Back Creek was designed by golf architects Allen Liddicoat and David Horne and opened in 1997. The par 71 layout measures 7,113 yards from the championship tee markers. It has a slope rating of 134 and a course rating of 74.4. Among its many accolades, Back Creek GC, named among Golfweek’s “Best In State” and Golf Magazine’s “Best Public Courses.” Back Creek has also been ranked as one of Golfweek’s “Top 100 Modern Courses” and Golf Travel Magazine’s “Top 40 Public Courses in the U.S.”
Besides the championship-caliber golf course, Back Creek is also a popular restaurant and banquet venue. The Grille at Back Creek is known for its great food and ideal location. The Grille is an award-winning restaurant, having been voted the Best of Delaware and Open Table Best of Delaware time and again.
