Madawaska Golf Club

The Madawaska Golf Course, located on Western edge of Ottawa, at Arnprior was originally designed and built by Mr. Alan Howard in 1976, it opened as a 9 Hole Golf Course with a Driving Range. Within a year the Madawaska Golf Course expanded to be the first 18 Hole Facility in the Arnprior area. Over 10,000 small Pines and Spruce were planted outlining the fairways giving the course, now over 25 years old, well defined fairways, challenging rough, requiring a target golf approach.

In 1986 the Madawaska Golf Course was purchased by Richard Munro and set out to become a "Best Value Golf Facility". With a strong commitment to service and customer understanding, the Madawaska Golf Course has become one of the most popular Golf Courses in the Arnprior and Ottawa areas. Mr. Munro added the restaurant and bar facilities in 1986 to provide a full service Golf Facility. In 1997 the Driving Range/Practice Facility were re-introduced.

In 1998-99 the Madawaska Golf Course underwent major renovation, the watering system was upgraded, and the redesign to make way for the new 417 TransCanada Highway expansion was completed. Three new holes (4,5,6,) were combined with the previous signature hole, number 7, ponds were added, enviornmental areas maintained, to create the Madawaska Golf Course's own version of Amen Corner.
