Royal Ashburn Golf Club
In the spring of 1962, The Royal Ashburn Golf Club opened as an 18-hole facility, and has since developed into a world-class facility, ranked among the Top 50 public golf courses in Canada. Originally opening under the name Whitby Golf Club, the name was quickly changed to Thunderbird Golf Club, as it was known for many years. In the spring of 2000 we changed the name one final time to The Royal Ashburn Golf Club.
To further reflect our history and contributions to the game of golf, The Royal Ashburn Golf Club was granted Armorial Bearings (coat of Arms) on September 15, 2006, granted to us by the authority vested in the Governor General to exercise the prerogative of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada.

IT'S GO TIME:
All golfers (including members) are required to check in with the Pro Shop staff prior to teeing off.
The Practice Facilities are complimentary for all daily paid greens feers 30 minutes prior to tee-off. The Driving Range is typically open 8:30am to 5:30pm daily with the Short Game available at all times of the day. Please check in with the Pro Shop staff for use of the facilities either before or after hours as one or all sections of the practice area may be closed due to maintenance and/or conditions. Complimentary access to the Practice Facilities are granted with a paid daily greens fees before your round only! To begin the season, our Driving Range will be mats only until most likely the long weekend in May.
Please note twosomes and/or singles will be matched or paired together if booked online within 20 minutes of your tee time (e-mail confirmation will be sent to notify reservation has been adjusted). We also ask golfers to check-in 10-15 minutes prior to your tee time with our starter so we can keep our tee on time.
GOLF CART RENTALS
Max two carts per foursome. Power carts will be accessible prior to check-in by checking in with one of our Back Shop Attendants (will be wearing a Red Uniform for identification). Please note the Cart Rule to begin the 2026 season will be strictly Cart Paths Only. Once warmer and drier conditions become present, exceptions to the rule will be given with the proper medical documentation.
Pull carts will also be available to our golfers to rent on a first come first serve basis.
WASHROOM FACILITIES
You will have access to our clubhouse where you can use our washroom and locker facilities.
On Course washrooms are located on holes 5 and 14 and are are now Open for the season!
PLAY IN PROGRESS
We do ask that all golfers cooperate with our on-course Marshals and Staff. Slow play affects everyone therefore we ask that you cooperate with our Staff as they are here to make sure everyone's experience is enjoyable.
Pace of Play: Don’t worry about the group behind you. Keep pace with the group in front of you.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
Alcohol not purchased through the golf course is not permitted and is prohibited by law. Please note our alcohol is all identified with a proof of purchase sticker and all outside alcohol will be confiscated. Offenders may be asked to terminate their game.
Dress Code: Proper attire must be worn at all times when on the property. This includes a collared shirt (mock necks are permitted), no t-shirts, no denim and no cutoffs and footwear must be worn at all times.
