If you are looking for a traditional west coast golf experience with majestic, towering old growth trees and long narrow fairways that anyone can play, then this is it. Carved out of the pristine forests of the University Endowment Lands, the 18 hole par 72 course is a favourite among both casual golfers and regulars.
Full of history (since 1929) the course today has a mature landscape which is both challenging and forgiving. It’s only minutes away from the city but you feel away from it all. Not to mention a clubhouse that benefits a private club. It’s no wonder the University Golf Club is a voted best Public Golf Course time and time again.
The relatively level terrain from hole to hole makes power carts optional and many opt to enjoy the tradition of the game by walking. However you choose to get around your time on course will be time well spent.
You can find us located just minutes from downtown Vancouver and in the heart of the Pacific Spirit Park and the University Endowment Lands. In the city yet away from it all!
At “The Gates” of the University of British Columbia, West 10th Avenue becomes University Boulevard as it intersects with Blanca Street. Follow the boulevard westward for about one kilometre. You’ll see our luscious green fairways and the entrance is well marked on the right.
The University Golf Club is close to the sandy beaches at Locarno & Spanish Banks, great shopping on 10th Avenue and down the street from the University of British Columbia with the UBC botanical gardens and the Chan Centre of Performing Arts. The University Golf Club grounds are also the home of the BC Golf Museum located between the 16th & 17th holes and can be accessed off Blanca Street.
